October Chair's Message

Chair Marcee Stone-Vekich

Have you ever wondered what the 34th Dems Executive Board does? Have you ever thought about joining the leadership of our organization? Join us at Oc-Voterfest!

Prior to our October 12th meeting, you’re invited to a hoppy hour at 6:30 with local beer on tap and pretzels galore. Executive board members will be available to chat with you about what they do and to answer any questions you have about their roles. After lengthy service to this organization, many of our current leaders will be stepping down. We will begin the business meeting with a more formal presentation on the E-board roles. As a follow-up to this presentation, we urge those who are interested to attend our next Executive Board member meeting on October 19th.

The King County Democrats’ re-organization is in early December and the 34th Dems’ re-organization is on January 11th. Re-organization will be upon us before we know it. It’s time to see what it is that you can do to bring new life into this organization.

At Oc-VoterFest, PCOs and volunteers will receive walk lists and our sample ballots to distribute at doors across the 34th Legislative District. You’ll hear from our leaders why GOTV is so important! It’s time to volunteer to help out with the campaigns.

You can find out more about the 34th Dems by volunteering. Because if you’re not a PCO yet, but would like to volunteer to doorbell, you can pair up with an experienced PCO to see how it’s done. All doorbell-ers get a 34th Dems T-shirt and a walk list with sample ballots to walk a precinct. This is how elections are won and how change at the top is created. Imagine how vibrant voting in this state could be with a Democratic majority in the State Senate and Tina Podlodowski as Secretary of State.

Hop on by at Drinking Liberally on Tuesday, at Pizzeria 22 any time after 6 p.m., to watch the Vice Presidential Debate on Tuesday, October 4th!

Oc-VoterFest -- Hops you can believe in!
